“I Will Probe $16bn Obasanjo Spent On Power Project And Send Him To Jail If Found Guilty” – Buhari Vows

President Muhammadu Buhari has vowed to probe the $16bn spent on failed power project by the administration of former President Olusegun Obasanjo.

He said his government would recover the money and expose those behind the scam.

President Buhari, who spoke on Tuesday in Yenagoa, the Bayelsa State capital, during the All Progressives Congress presidential campaign rally, said he was unrelenting in his pursuit of those who looted the nation’s resources.

The President, who landed at the government helipad, was received by the Bayelsa State Governor, Seriake Dickson, before he proceeded to pay a courtesy call on the traditional rulers in the state.

Addressing the crowd, Buhari said his administration despite the daunting challenges had been able to curtail the security issues in the North-East while the economy was on the way to becoming self-reliant.

Although he did not mention Obasanjo, Buhari said, “The previous government mentioned on their own that they spent $16bn on power but you are better witnesses than myself. Where is the power? Where is the money? We will follow them, eventually God willing, we will catch them and get our money back.”The Federal Government was reported to have spent N16bn on power projects between 1999 and 2007 when Obasanjo was in government.

Obasanjo’ll make himself available for probe, says aide

When contacted by one of our correspondents, the media aide to Obasanjo, Kehinde Akinyemi, said his principal was expecting the probe, adding that he would make himself available anytime.

He said the former President had since last year said that he was ready for probe.

Obasanjo media aide said a statement had been issued last year where the former President announced his readiness for the probe.

Akinyemi said, “It is no more news. We are already expecting that. Since last year, Baba (Obasanjo) had said he would make himself available for the probe.”

Buhari likes illusion, says Osuntokun

Obasanjo, he said, had even written a book about it and also volunteered information about the issue to the National Assembly and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.

He said the President “likes illusion,” adding that the former President had said that there was nothing like $16bn as being claimed by Buhari.

Osuntokun said, “We have a danger in our hands. President Obasanjo has written about this issue. He had volunteered information to the National Assembly and all that. Buhari is busy wining and dining with those being investigated by the EFCC, claiming that their sins had been forgiven.”

FUTO student arrested for allegedly killing her estranged boyfriend

A 20-year-old undergraduate of the Federal University of Technology Owerri, Chitere Okoronkwo, pictured above, has been arrested by men of the Imo state police command for allegedly killing her boyfriend, Johnmark Osigwe.

Parading her before newsmen at the command's headquarters on Tuesday February 12th, the state Commissioner of Police, Dasuki Galadanchi, said investigations by the police, showed that Chitere and Johnmark were lovers and after they fell out, she allegedly masterminded his kiling on August 8, 2018, and afterwards fled to South Africa.

“Chitere Okoronkwo, 20, of Umualumaku village in the Ehime Mbano Local Government Area of Imo State, was arrested at Ama-Wire Uratta in Owerri, Imo State by SARS operatives on Monday. She was arrested in connection with the murder of one Johnmark Osigwe, 24, at Nkwo-Orji in Owerri on August 16, 2018. It is important to note that the deceased was a boyfriend to the suspect.“When their relationship got sour and ended, the girl demanded compensation. The deceased, due to persistent threats to life before being assassinated, had paid N1.8m for shop rent and N2m for interior decoration of the shop to the estranged girlfriend. Not done with the threats, she demanded N3m, which the deceased gave through a lawyer. Before the money was finally paid to the lady, he was murdered inside his Mercedes SUV. 

“After his death, the lady fled to South Africa. Okoronkwo has confessed that she told a guy that she wanted the victim dead due to their misunderstanding'' she said

The police boss said more investigations are currently going on and that the suspect would be charged to court soon.

OMG! Bullion Van Driver Runs Away With $1.13m

The driver of an armoured bullion van disappeared early on Monday along with an estimated one million euros, police sources said.

“When they came back out, the van and the driver were gone,” one of the sources said.

The 28-year-old man had stopped in front of a Western Union office, outside Paris, at around 6:00 am (0500 GMT) in Aubervilliers, a suburb just north of the capital, and stayed behind the wheel as two of his colleagues went inside, police told AFP.

“When they came back out, the van and the driver were gone,” one of the sources said.

The van was found soon afterwards a few blocks away with its doors wide open, but the driver and the bags of cash, worth some $1.13 million, were nowhere to be found.

The two other employees had not been injured, the source said.

Loomis, the armoured van company, did not return calls seeking comment.

An inquiry has been opened by France’s anti-gang squad.

The last major such heist was in November 2009 when Toni Musulin fled in the armoured van he was driving with at least 11.5 million euros in cash collected from a Bank of France building in Lyon.

He was caught after a little more than a week on the run.

Broke Kenyan man puts up one of his testicles for sale; Says he’s tired of living in poverty

A 27-year-old former aspirant for Member of County Assembly (MCA) seat, has put up one of his testicles for sale for Sh500,000.

Ian-Harriel Kowiti, who hails from Uriri Constituency in Migori County, says he’s tired of living in squalor and poverty, and has opted to raise cash by selling one of his testicles.

Kowiti, who tried his hands in politics in the last General Election as an independent candidate, is also willing to part with one of his kidneys for Sh1.5 million for ‘a local client,’ and three times that amount for ‘client’ based outside the country.

“What is the need of having two of them (testicles) dangling between my legs if I can still do the job perfectly with just one?” Kowiti posed in an interview with The Nairobian.

“Imagine that there is someone out there who can’t have a child for one reason or another. I just want to share what I have, for a little profit of course! I’m tired of being broke, yet I don’t need two testicles!” Kowiti said    Kowiti says that he’s selling his testicles to better his life. However, he explains that money is not the motivation for selling his kidney.

“A doctor friend confirmed to me that you can lead a healthy and fulfilling life with just one kidney. It pains me that there is someone out there who is suffering because of kidney failure and has to spend so much money on dialysis. I have two functioning kidneys, and I consider it the right thing to do to give out one,” he explained.

Kowiti added that, “I wouldn’t mind donating my kidney, it’s only that I am now financially constrained and wouldn’t mind some cash in exchange for the organ. If I were to donate my kidney, the interested party would have to cater for the cost of surgery and my travel expenses, that is if the operation has to take place outside the country.”

Though a man can still lead a healthy sex life with one testicle, medics have dismissed the idea of harvesting testicles.

An inquest into the tragic death of Argentinian football player, Emiliano Sala has revealed he died from "head and trunk" injuries when the plane he was travelling on crashed in the English Channel.

The 28-year-old striker was travelling from Nantes, France to Wales to join his new teammates at Cardiff City, after signing a $29 million deal with his new club.

Sala's body was recovered from the seabed wreckage last week after he disappeared on January 22 with his pilot David Ibbotson on board.

Sala had to be identified by his fingerprints after his body pulled out from the wreckage of the Piper Malibu aircraft.

"Mr Sala was identified on the 7th February by means of fingerprint evidence analyses by fingerprint expert Christopher Bradbury," Ian Parry, a senior coroner's officer for Dorset, said.

"A post mortem was carried out after the body was taken to Holly Tree Lodge mortuary.

"Home office pathologist Mr Purdue gave the cause of death as head and trunk injuries."

The inquest was adjourned until November 6 for a pre-inquest review.

An interim report is set to be released within a fortnight, although a full report by the Air Accident Investigation Branch will not be published for at least six months, The Sun reported.

National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Adams Oshiomhole has questioned the morality of former President Olusegun Obasanjo’s alarm over alleged plans of the ruling party to rig the election.  

Speaking in Ilorin, Kwara State, during the APC rally on Monday, Oshiomhole said he had evidence of Obasanjo’s use of policemen to snatch ballot boxes. However, he didn’t say if this happened during the election that made Obasanjo President in 1999 or the one that secured his re-election in 2003.  

“He (Obasanjo) said he was warning that INEC, Police, Army, every government institution, should not be destroyed. I have the pictures where Obasanjo used policemen to snatch ballot boxes, even here in Kwara State.

In Kwara, they used arm robbers to terrorise the people on election day. Those who have been arrested for killing 32 people have confessed who gave them the arms. So, who is using the produce or unarmed armed robbers to terrorise people other than PDP?  

I want to assure the international community… our victory will be transparent; we do not need to steal what belongs to us. We have travelled round the country; we have seen the people; they want Buhari” Oshiomhole said.

A 13-year-old school dropout, on Friday beheaded his mother at Isiagu Ibakwa in Igboeze South local council of Enugu state.

The boy, whose name was given as Ifesinachi Ugwueze, was said to have hacked his mother, Beatrice Ugwueze, a widow, to death.

The deceased was alone with her son in the house and grinding pepper for lunch with her local grinding stone when Ifesinachi descended on her with a cutlass and severed her head from the rest of her body.

The screaming and groan of the deceased alerted the neighbourhood who chased the suspect in his attempt to escape.

The incident set the community in a turmoil as an angry mob gathered to lynch the boy. He was tied and forced to drink the pool of blood gushing out of his mother’s lifeless body. He later died before the arrival of the officers of Nigeria Police Force.Enugu Command Police spokesman, Superindent Ebere Amaraizu, said while confirming the incident, “tragedy had allegedly struck at about 1:30 pm at Isiagu Ibagwa in Igbo-Eze South Local Government Area of Enugu State when a son identified as Ifesinachi Ukwueze, allegedly murdered his mother identified as Beatrice Ukwueze with a cutlass over a yet to be established issues.

“The action of Ifesinachi Ukwueze allegedly angered irate mob who had descended heavily on him and left him lifeless before the arrival of the security operatives.

“Meanwhile, the dead body of the deceased son and the mother have been deposited in a nearby mortuary just as a full scale investigations have commenced into the incident.”

And with time, many of those men, where in places of authority and economic positions of influence. Such men also started to see that many women were a threat to their masculinity. And did everything to block them.

Like a woman can not bail anyone arrested. Women can not rent properties. They failed to accept that women were capable of pulling their weight when shouldered with responsibilities, BUT DID BETTER THAN THE MEN, who went head to head with them. And still play their roles as womenIn school, you will remember, if you want to be honest, there were ladies who were constantly in 1st to 10th positions. And there were heavy men, who were unashamedly in the 30th to 32nd positions. That was the start. It became more glaring that women can be equally smart and even smarter. Many of these men, were in any case being taught by women, as teachers, lecturers and professors.

So, gradually, the thought of a woman being DEPENDENT ON any man started fading. Especially when the men started having them as bosses, and learning under their feet. Humbling. However, it needs to be further emphasised in these day and age, that the days of a woman being DEPENDENT are gone. Or nearly gone.

So, it's clear, that financial instability of women is the major reason many wpmen don't get treated like they should. It turns relationships to cash and carry or business transactions. It also then makes many men believe, that financial independence will take away their power. Only WEAK MEN think like that. And women who think they must go into a relationship because its their only way to financial stability are the ones who empower them.

Michelle Obama makes surprise appearance at the Grammys, joining Alicia Keys, Jennifer Lopez, Jada Pinkett, and Lady Gaga on stage

Jaws dropped at the Grammy Awards when former US First Lady, Michelle Obama made a surprise appearance.

The 61st Grammy Awards held at Staples Centre in Los Angeles on Sunday night. 

As Ms. Obama appeared on stage, joined by the host Alicia Keys, Lady Gaga, Jada Pinkett- Smith, and Jennifer Lopez, fans screamed and blew kisses to the former first lady.  She smiled before saying 'We've got a show to do!' and began laughing with her co-presenters.

She went on to pay a tribute to Motown and Beyonce, saying:From the Motown records that I wore out on the Southside, to the Who Run The World songs that fueled me through this last decade, music has always helped me tell my story and I know that's true for everyone here. 

Music helps us share ourselves, our dignity and sorrows, our hopes our joys. 

It allows us to hear one another - to invite each other in. Music shows us that all of it matters...every story within every voice, every note within every song.
