Justice Olatoregun today said all the parties in the suit must give oral evidence to justify the money’s source and ownership.
“I have stated here that the right of parties in this suit cannot be determined by affidavit evidence. Oral testimonies are to be called with cross extermination. I hereby order parties to call upon their witnesses so that the right of parties can be determined one way or the other,” the judge ruled.

Barca scared it'll cost £87m to get 21 year old 'dream transfer' Marcus Rashford from Manchester United

According to Top Spanish newspaper, Mundo Deportivo, Barca are willing to make Marcus Rashford their latest signing, as they don't see any future with Luis Suarez and the possibility of Neymar returning to the club appear dim as the days go by.

Rashford, 21, who rose to prominence in 2016 after scoring two goals in his first senior game against Arsenal, is in line to sign a new contract running until the summer of 2025, that would see him earn around £200,000-a-week.

The Catalan giants are realistic that any attempt to sign Rashford, who is undoubtedly Man U's number one striker at the moment, from Old Trafford would cost in excess of €100m (£87m).  Rashford is considered 'non-transferable' by the Old Trafford chiefs.

Rashford was born and bred in Manchester, meaning it will be tough to take the lad from his hometown , where he already has cult- hero status.
Rashford has made 155 appearances for the Red Devils, scoring 42 goals for the club.

FINALLY! Chelsea Boss Sarri Speaks On Dumping The Club For Greener Pastures

Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri has dismissed claims he has been approached by Roma.
Reports yesterday suggested Roma have made contact with Sarri and his representatives over a move to bring him back to Serie A to replace current Giallorossi boss Eusebio Di Francesco.
Sarri told BT Sport, when quizzed on the reported meeting, after Chelsea’s Europa League victory over Malmo:
“No, I have a contract with Chelsea for the next two seasons so it is impossible to have another contract.
“I read in an Italian newspaper something about a meeting with Franco Baldini but I think for the moment Franco is in South Africa so it is very difficult.”

Why Elections may not hold in some areas- INEC

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has said it would not conduct elections in volatile areas where the safety of their staff and ahdoc workers is at risk.
The National Commissioner and Chairman, Information and Voter Education Committee of INEC, Festus Okoye, in an interview with Daily Independent, said while the election would go ahead as scheduled tomorrow, Saturday February 23rd, the commission would not risk the lives of its officials and ad-hoc staff by posting them to areas where their safety could not be guaranteed.
“We won’t just move ad-hoc staff arbitrarily to places where we believe they are very vulnerable or places we believe that if we deploy them to, they are likely to come to harm. We have been working with the Interagency Consultative Committee on Election Security to map out places that we regard as flashpoints, places that have serious problems of insurgency and places that we have camps of IDPs.“Wherever it is impossible to conduct elections and the security agencies are saying they cannot protect those areas, of course we won’t conduct elections in those areas. The implication is that it is either the people are completely displaced or partially displaced. It is not as if we are oblivious of some of the security challenges but we are working with all of these organs and the resident electoral commissioners in these states that have challenges of insecurity are in touch with all the critical stakeholders in terms of where it is possible to conduct elections and places where it is impossible to conduct elections, or where the registration areas have to be moved or adjusted to make sure that people vote.”
“Wherever it is possible for people to vote, we will make sure that the people are not disenfranchised. So, we are determined to make sure that every eligible Nigerian votes in this election unless it becomes practically impossible to conduct elections in some places, in which case the registration areas will be adjusted to enable people to vote. Wherever it is secure to conduct elections, we’ll conduct elections in those areas.” he said

FG orders immediate payment of February salaries ahead of Saturday's election

The Federal Government of Nigeria has directed the immediate payment of February salaries to enable workers wishing to travel for Saturday’s Presidential and National Assembly election to do so without any difficulties.

The Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, made this known when he briefed State House correspondents on the outcome of the meeting of the Federal Executive Council which was presided over by President Buhari at the Council Chamber of the Presidential Villa, Abuja, on Wednesday.

The minister disclosed that already the relevant authorities had been directed to commence the payment of the salaries to the federal workers from February 19. According to him, this is to enable the civil servants planning to travel for the elections to do so before Saturday.
“On the part of the Federal Government also, we decided that to make it easy for those who will want to go back to vote, salary payment started yesterday (Tuesday) as opposed to the normal 25th of every month. This is just to ease the burden of people who want to go back and cast their vote,’’ he said.  The minister added that the council deliberated and reviewed some of the palliatives put in place to help people return to cast their votes. He said the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria, with a membership of about 50,000 had agreed to cushion the effect of the postponement by reducing the price of petrol from N145 to 140 from February 21 to 25.

The minister said the National Union of Road Transport Workers with about two million members and operates motor parks in all the 774 local government areas across the country had offered to provide a discount to travellers.
“This discount is also to encourage voters who would have normally been disenfranchised as a result of INEC’s postponement. This discount is also valid between February 21 and 25. Arik and Aero airlines have also thrown in their own incentives. Aero contractors have offered a 50 per cent discount to all travellers who present their Permanent Voters Card at the purchasing point.
“Arik will be selling their one-way ticket at N16,000 to any destination across the country. This is to support Nigerians looking to travel to cast their vote. The discount is valid between the 18th of February and the 11th of March. All these are aimed at encouraging voters who might have been disenfranchised by the postponement,” he said.

Pants For Ritual: Drama As Female Customers Abandon Underwear Markets In Edo

Miss Osasuwa, a 25-year-old shop attendant in Benin City, the Edo State capital now goes to work without wearing pants.
She said she no longer wore pants, especially while going out, following the activities of young men who engage in money ritual in the area.
Osasuwa is not the only female in Benin who has stopped wearing pants while going out, for fear of being forced to remove it at gunpoint.
Daily Trust on Sunday gathered that last month, a young man in his early 20s was caught with female and children’s pants. It took the intervention of the police to rescue him from crowd justice.
It was also gathered that the young men started the act by stealing babies’ pampers from dustbins, a development that forced many women to start burning pampers after use.
It was further learnt that these young men graduated from stealing babies’ pampers to female underwear for ritual purposes when pampers were not yielding much dividend.
These desperate young men, it was gathered, would go to the extent of visiting people’s houses to steal female pants. They also block the highways and lonely streets at night, forcing young women to part with their underwear at gunpoint.
It was gathered that while those who engage in money ritual steal pants directly, others steal to sell to prospective buyers at exorbitant prices.Mr Isaac Ordia, who spoke to our correspondent on the development, said there were many incidents where young women were forced to remove their pants at gunpoint.
“In December last year, young men allegedly blocked Agbor road with guns. When they stopped a vehicle, the occupants thought they were there to rob, but surprisingly, they separated the men from women and asked them to pull their pants and hand over to them. After collecting the panties, they zoomed off,’’Ordia said. He added that the act of stealing pants for ritual purpose started in Delta State but rapidly spread to Edo.
Our correspondent also learnt that some brave young women manage to wear pants while going out, but they apply charcoal on it, believing that the substance neutralizes the potency of rituals.
It was further gathered that, having noticed that young women no longer wear pants, those who engage in the act resorted to using white handkerchiefs to clean the private parts female victims, also at gunpoint.Speaking on the development, Agatha Osas, a student said, “I only wear pants at home. I remove it while going out and put on jeans trousers. Since I heard that they forced some girl to remove their pants on the road at gunpoint, I have stopped wearing pants. But I put on tight wears while going out since it is pants they are interested in.
Helen Juliet, a 25-year-old stylist said she still went out with pants but mindful of walking in lonely streets at night.
“I can’t do without wearing pants. However, many young women have stopped wearing pants because of what has been happening. They were stealing from people’s homes, but when people became conscious of where they hanged their underwear, they resorted to taking it at gunpoint.
“After washing, I only hang my pants on Sundays when I would be at home. And I have to sit down and watch till they dry and I take them inside. I have to be very careful so that they will not be stolen for ritual purpose,’’ she said.
Also, a 20-year-old tailor who gave her name as Edith said, “I always put on trousers so that I can walk around without people noticing that I am not wearing pants. Some of us now go with charcoal because it is said to neutralise the potency of the ritual and would not have any effect on the victim. I have to go with charcoal whenever I am going out.’’
She lamented that the development is making them uncomfortable and called on security agents to do something about it.Another young woman who preferred anonymity also told Daily Trust on Sunday that, “They caught one at Agbor park with children and female pants, which he wanted to use for ritual. You will see them riding exotic cars and you won’t know that they are into money ritual.
“We also learnt that each pair of pants costs between N250,000 and N300, 000, depending on its efficacy. This is why young men are involving themselves in the theft of pants.
Pants sellers lament
Our correspondent who visited some of the markets in Benin observed that respective underwear sections, which hitherto witnessed crowds of female customers, were no longer the beehive of activities they used to be.
A pants seller at the Oba Market, who only gave her name as Omoh, said things were no longer the way they used to be since the issue of pants theft began.
“I have not witnessed it, I only heard about it. We are still selling little by little, but not the way it was. I can tell you that the patronage has reduced drastically since the incident started,” she said.
Omoh, who sat in one corner of her shop waiting for customers, lamented that they were facing hard times as a result of the development.
Also speaking, Sivalnus Favour, 25, who also sells underwear, said they were hoping that things would improve in the market.
Ladies no longer patronise us. And when you give prices to the few that come around, they will simply tell you that they are no longer wearing pants, and walk away. It is affecting our business negatively,’’ she said.
At Ekiosa market, a trader, Onyebuchi Aleleiwu said, “I come to the market every day without selling anything. When there was patronage, I would sell above N100,000 a day, but these days I come here to keep vigil over my goods, The pants we sell at N200 here, we learnt that the young boys who steal them for ritual purpose will sell it at N300,000. I used to sell over 15 dozen a week, but now I can’t even boast of selling one dozen. Now, the issue has become bad market for us,’’
“Since they started stealing pants, young women only pass by our shops.”Late last year, I sold over 20 dozen in a week, but now, to sell a dozen has become a problem. This used to be our peak period as schools resumed. Parents and young women would buy many pants and keep till schools went on holidays, but now, schools have opened but no one is coming to buy from us. We usually get new stocks almost every week, but the one we bought over three weeks are still there,” she added.
Also speaking, Lucky Okhaafo, 40, who sells at the New Benin market, said the development was also affecting the sale of tight wears, not only pants.
“I deal on wholesale, but the business has crashed due to the development and we now struggle to make little sales,’’ he said.
Another trader, Ogbewu Isilode lamented, “If I tell you that the development doesn’t affect us, I would be telling lies. This is 10am and I am yet to sell anything. In the past, by this time I must have sold over four dozen. But now, any young woman you call for patronage will tell you that they don’t wear pants anymore. The development is affecting our business, We trade on wholesale basis, but now, we don’t even see anybody who would even ask for one.”

According to Oyeyemi, the suspect claimed to have got a Local Purchase Order (LPO) from a property company and appealed to the organisation to help fund the LPO, consequent upon which a sum of N33.118m was transferred into to her bank account.
He said while the organisation was awaiting the repayment of the loan, the suspect came with another two LPOs she claimed to have got from a Catholic Hospital, Iju and a private school in Ikorodu, Lagos State, upon which another sum of N77m was given to her, after convincing the organisation with relevant documents and proofs to back her claims. But as soon as the suspect got the last payment in September 2018, she was nowhere to be found, prompting the organisation to make inquiries about the LPOs she submitted before they discovered it was all forged.
“Upon the petition, the Commissioner of Police Ogun State, Ahmed Iliyasu, directed his monitoring team to go after the suspect and bring her to book. The team technically tracked the suspect and got her arrested on January 21, 2019.

“Meanwhile, the CP has directed the monitoring team to arraign the suspect in court as soon as the investigations are concluded,” DSP Oyeyemi stated.

FEAR FEAR! Sarri Reveals The Club He Wants Chelsea To Avoid In Europa League

Chelsea manager, Maurizio Sarri has identified his former club, Napoli as the team he wants the Blues to avoid in the Europa League.
Sarri said this following Chelsea’s 2-1 win over Malmo Thursday night in the Europa League round of 32 first leg encounter.
Goals from Ross Barkley and Olivier Giroud handed Chelsea all three points against Malmo at Swedbank Stadion.
However, a goal from Anders Christiansen was not enough to give the hosts a point against Sarri’s side.
“I would avoid playing in Naples, if possible because it would be too strong an emotional response for me to focus on the game,” Sarri was quoted as saying by Metro UK.
“If Napoli-Chelsea means we are both in the Final, however, then I’d be happy for both.”
Sarri’s men will tackle Manchester United in the FA Cup at Wembley on Monday night in their next fixture.
